#THESTAYCATIONERS Taking Over Miami’s Heat.

Coming down with a case of summertime sadness? THE STAYCATIONERS have just the cure in the form of a betassled mid-century beachfront oasis. Enter Casa Claridge’s, the unpretentious Mediterranean-meets-Argentine expression of the Faena hotel family, fusing progressive art and laid-back living together under crimson awnings and matching umbrellas. Now this is a color scheme we can get behind.

THE SPOT: Casa Claridge’s at the Faena | 3500 Collins Avenue, Miami

THE STATS: 51 rooms, private beach, sprawling oceanview terrace, undefeated atrium game

PERFECT FOR: a good ol’ 1930s-inspired Mid-Beach stayaway.

“Rise and shine” takes on a whole new meaning when you wake up in a King Studio with the ocean’s salty essence creeping its way through billowy terrace curtains. THE STAYCATIONERS got an early start to the day, greeting the sun with Xtend Barre founder Andrea Rogers in Peony getups, resistance bands in tow. Mission: “Plié Way to Appetite” accomplished.

Stephen Starr’s Bal Harbour belle is a bit of a schlep from Mid-Beach, but one typically pays little to no mind when in a fancy Uber SUV full of staycationing starlettes. Off to Le Zoo we go.

Faint chirps and the ever-echoing sound of clinking glasses welcome the crew with open arms, a festooned five-top awaiting beneath the patio’s lush trellis. If this is the embodiment of Parisian chic meets Miami flora, we’re not mad about it. Cue the tropical cocktails and colorful French dishes (and the swapping thereof) — THE STAYCATIONERS passed around tartare and paillard and trout amandine as if it were their second job. We suppose that’s not entirely far off. Back to the hotel for phase…we’ve lost count.

umble and Mumble babes from Miami’s 1821 Salon came armed with bottles on bottles of Surf Spray Blow Dry for the serious texture requisite for both the Miami heat and its rival temperature inside the one and only El Tucán. Between selfies and sips from Absolut Elyx pineapples (and a trip down to the lobby for those obligatory atrium shots), THE STAYCATIONERS wasted no time in channeling their inner low-key Carmen Miranda and headed to Brickell for dinner and one hell of a show.

Whatever you’ve heard about Miami’s wildest boîte is probably true. From the 1940s Cuban vibe and swanky service to the best show for miles and its subsequent live music through the wee hours of the morning, El Tucán is guaranteed to transport its patrons to a bygone era — the only downside being that the feather headdresses are not available for purchase.

Alas, they do say that all good staycations must come to an end. With shoes off and their chariot patiently awaiting (read: Uber), THE STAYCATIONERS rode off into the distance toward fluffy Frette linens and tomorrow’s Casa breakfast.

Keep up with THE STAYCATIONERS as they take over a new hotel each month. This inaugural Miami round made possible by Bumble and bumbleAbsolut ElyxUber MIAMI1821 SalonVanity ProjectsPeonyXtend BarreLe Zoo, El TucánASOSStyle MafiaIORANE, and Mint & Rose
